How To Speed Up Your Windows 11 Boot Time

Nobody likes waiting for their computer to boot up, especially when you’re in a hurry. A slow startup can be caused by various factors, but fortunately, there are several ways to speed up your Windows 11 PC’s boot process. Here are some effective tips:

Enable Fast Startup: This feature saves part of the system state to a file, allowing Windows to load essential data faster when powering on. It’s a simple way to reduce boot time without affecting system performance.

Here's how to enable fast startup in Windows 11:

  1. Click the magnifying icon on the taskbar to access the Windows search menu.

  2. Type "Control Panel" in the text box and press "Enter."

  3. Click the "View by" menu in the top right corner to select "Large icons" or "Small icons."

  4. Go to "Power Options" and click the "Choose what the power buttons does" option on your left.

  5. Click the "Change settings that are currently unavailable" option at the top.

  6. Tick the "Turn on fast startup" checkbox and then hit the "Save changes" button.

Reduce Startup Apps: Having too many apps launch at startup can slow down your PC. Disable unnecessary startup apps to free up system resources and improve boot speed.

How To:

  1. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app.

  2. Navigate to Apps > Startup.

  • Manage Storage Space: Insufficient storage can slow down your PC. Regularly check your storage status and remove unused apps or transfer large files to cloud storage. Enable “Storage Sense” to automatically delete temporary files.

  • Defragment Your Hard Drive: Over time, files can become fragmented, leading to slower performance. Use the built-in “Defragment and Optimize Drives” tool to reorganize files and improve boot times.

By following these tips, you can enjoy a faster, more efficient startup on your Windows 11 PC.
